Body found in quarry

The body of a former Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was found in a quarry in the Malayinkeezhu police station limits late Monday. The police said John Gilbert, 38, of Anthiyoorkonam had gone missing from his home around 7 a.m. on Sunday. His body was found in the unused quarry on Monday evening. A case of unnatural death had been registered and the autopsy report was awaited. John, whose services were reportedly terminated by the BSF 10 years ago, had taken to heavy drinking, the police said. He is survived by his wife and son. — Special Correspondent
