Acclaimed producer and director Bhimsain Khurana will be honoured with the ‘Legend of Animation’ title at the Toonz Media Group’s Animation Masters’ Summit 2017 being held on May 5 and 6 at Technopark.

Mr. Khurana has 16 national and seven international awards to his credit. He was also awarded the special jury award in the 2002 national film awards for his film Orchestra and lifetime achievement award of the FICCI-Frames in 2005 and Arena Animation Academy in 2003. The ‘Legend of Animation’ honour is being bestowed upon Mr. Khurana for his all-round contribution towards entertainment industry, said P. Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Media Group.

Toonz conducted the first summit in 1999. The Masters Summit now has become a top international event for stalwarts, including top Hollywood directors and masters from the global media and entertainment industry, to get together and share their knowledge with young artists and enthusiasts. The ceremony will be inaugurated by industry veteran Fred Wang, honorary vice president of the China Film Foundation.

“Through the Animation Master Summit (AMS), we provide a platform for amateurs to learn from the industry legends. We have been organising AMS for so many years that now it is a fixture in every industry personnel’s calendar. Everyone who is passionate about media in general and animation in particular are welcome to the summit,” said Mr. Jayakumar.

In conjunction with the summit, Toonz is also organising the Flying Elephant Competition, an international short film contest for students and professionals. The two-day summit will conclude with the Flying Elephant Award ceremony.
