Actor Jagannathan dead

Noted actor Jagannathan died at his residence here on Saturday. He was 74.

Mr.Jagannathan who had been ailing for a while was confined to his residence at Poojapura in the city. He had acted in about 150 films, television serials and dramas. He established himself as an actor through Kavalam Narayana Panicker’s `Avanavan Kadamba’ in which he played a prime role with actor Nedumudi Venu. His roles in `Pattanathil Sundaran,’ `Swagatham’ and `Mazhavil Kavadi’ had won him encomiums. He had sung a song in `Swagatham.’

The body will be cremated at 11 a.m. at Santhikavadam.
