Absconder nabbed after eight years
The Medical College police on Saturday nabbed Raju of Chennilodu, near Kumarapuram, who was absconding for the last eight years after an attempt to murder case was registered against him.
According to Sheen Tharayil, Circle Inspector, Medical College, Raju was nabbed during the Operation Suraksha drive in the Medical College police limits. Raju, following an argument during a temple festival at Chennilode in April 2006, had attempted to hack and kill his neighbour. He had fled the spot and the court had later declared him an absconder. On Saturday, Mr. Tharayil and his team, based on a tipoff received by Jawahar Janardh, Assistant Commissioner, Shanghumugham, traced Raju to Vattappara and nabbed him. The accused was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody on Sunday.
