615 students to get bicycles

Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes A.P. Anil Kumar will inaugurate a city Corporation scheme for distribution of bicycles to Scheduled Caste (SC) students at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Corporation office. The scheme, with a total outlay of Rs.31 lakh, is part of the ‘Munnottu Pokuka’ project in the 2014-15 budget of the Corporation.

A total of 615 students will get the bicycles.

As part of the ‘Nanma’ project, Rs.45.75 lakh will be distributed as financial assistance to differently abled students. Extra wages for pre-primary teachers will also be distributed during the function. Mayor K. Chandrika will preside over the function.
