3 Keralites among crash victims

Two from Thrissur district and one from Ernakulam district

V.K. Bindulal Babu of Chalakudy and P.N. Sreenivasan of Thrissur were among the victims of the Pawan Hans helicopter crash in Mumbai on Saturday.

Five officers of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation were killed in the copter accident.

Bindulal, 49, a Deputy General Manager with the ONGC, was the fourth son of Valiyaparambathu Kuttappan, a retired headmaster of Government High School, Chalakudy, and Narayanai, a retired schoolteacher.

He had shifted to Mumbai about two decades ago.

He is survived by wife Shini and two children Vibisha, a Plus Two student, and Sushant, a Class 3 student. Bindulal studied at Government High School, Chalakudy, and Sainik School, Kazhakuttam.

He graduated in Marine Engineering from Dhanbad and joined ONGC soon after. He last visited his ancestral house in Chalakudy in 2015, according to a relative.

Sreenivasan, a native of Thrissur, too is residing in Mumbai with his wife and two children. Sreenivasan had visited Thrissur about four months ago, according to his brother-in-law Rajendran.
