13 fishermen return safe

Thirteen of the fishermen reported missing in the sea returned by 10.30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the district administration . As per official figures, 106 fishermen and around 40 boats from the district have been missing. Of these, Varghese, 60, of Ponthura was rescued by an interceptor boat of the Indian Coast Guard and is undergoing treatment at government hospital, Vizhinjam, sources said. Four ships of the Indian Navy and two of the Coast Guard have been deployed for the rescue operations.
