Two killed as bunker crashes on them

Two quarry workers were killed on the spot after a bunker crashed on them at a crusher unit at Shivapura in Karkala taluk on Saturday.

According to the Hebri police, the deceased have been identified as Sanjeeva, 28, and Jagadish, 27. The incident took place when after filling the bunker above with gravel stones, Sanjeeva started reversing the lorry. The lorry went and hit a pillar which was supporting the bunker. As a result, the bunker crashed on the lorry killing Sanjeeva and Jagadish, who was doing the loading work there. While Sanjeeva was from Gadag district, Jagadish was from Uttar Pradesh.
