Mr. Das who has provided the music direction and is also the lyricist for the songs in the CD was felicitated at the event.

Tribhasha Sangam, a trilingual CD of music, was launched in the city on Sunday.

The CD has songs in Konkani, Kannada, and Marathi. The CD has eight songs and the ‘raagas’ in it include ‘Bageshree’ and ‘Malkauns’.

H. Shantaram, Administration Officer, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and chief guest, Basthi Vaman Shenoy, President, Vishwa Konkani Kendra, Mangalore; Sumathi V. Shenoy, trustee, ‘Seva Bharathi’, Mangalore; Prakash Shenoy, theatre personality, and Tagore Das, musician; launched the CD.

Mr. Das has provided the music direction and is also the lyricist for the songs in the CD.

Dinesh Nayak has produced the CD, said Padmini Nayak, music teacher and one of the playback singers who sang the songs in Marathi and Konkani for the CD. She said that the CD has Marathi abhang and the Kannada song has been sung by Jyothika Nayak.

Mr. Das, who has rendered Mohammed Rafi hits, was felicitated at the event.
