“The growth of small-scale industries would promote balanced growth of urban and rural areas in the country,” said Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University H.S. Ballal here on Thursday.
Inaugurating the Job-oriented Certificate Course in Small Industries Management Programme (SIMAP), organised by the Manipal Institute of Management (MIM), here, Prof. Ballal said that growth in entrepreneurial ability went a long way in promoting the growth of the country.
The creation of entrepreneurship and encouragement to small-scale enterprises would enhance the skills of labour, increase employability, and decrease the gap in the distribution of income and wealth.
“Providing education in entrepreneurship and management of small-scale enterprises is the need of the hour,” he said.
