Second round of counselling for Udyog Mela on Monday

: The district administration will hold the second round of counselling on Monday, for job seekers participating in the Udyog Mela to be held at Canara Engineering College, Benjanpadavu on November 19 and 20. The first round of counselling was held on November 7 and 8.

Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim told reporters that the counselling was being held for the second time following demand from applicants attending the job fair. It will be held at the Udyog Mela office at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the city and in Stree Shakti Bhavan in Bantwal, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Mr. Ibrahim said counselling helps applicants to select from the jobs that are on offer. Counsellors will also help applicants about the presentation, etiquettes and provide other tips.

Vivek Alva, who is coordinating the event, said nearly 1,500 job seekers participated in the counselling round in the city and six other places in the district on November 7 and 8.

Mr. Alva said so far as many as 9,000 persons have enrolled online (www.mangaluruudyoga

mela.com) for the Udyoga Mela where as many as 7,500 jobs were on offer from 184 companies. Jobs were on offer for B.Sc, B.Com, BBM, BHRD, BSW, Engineering and Hotel Management graduates. Placements are being offered for M.Com, MBA and other post graduates. Jobs are being offered for diploma and ITI certificate holders.

Mr. Ibrahim said vehicle arrangements have been made for people to come to Benjanpadavu from Moodbidri, Nantoor Cross, Bhagwan Mahaveer (Pumpwell) junction and Maripalla junction. Food stalls will be available where visitors can get food at subsidised cost, he said.
