Raghupati Bhat receives threat call

K. Raghupati Bhat, Udupi MLA, received a threat call on his cellphone here on September 5.

The police said on Thursday that Mr. Bhat had filed a complaint stating that when he was on his way home at Ambagilu, he received a threat call at 4.45 p.m.

A case had been registered at the Udupi town police station, the police said.

Further investigations were on, the police said.

For ransom

The caller threatened and sought money from him. Superintendent of Police M.B. Boralingaiah told The Hindu that the caller had spoken to Mr. Bhat in Hindi.

The police had some definite clues, Mr. Boralingaiah he said.
