Priority lab inaugurated

The Priority Laboratory was inaugurated at the District Health Surveillance Unit here on Saturday. The Department of Health and Family Welfare organised the opening ceremony.

According to the department, the new lab will make it possible to conduct Elisa tests for leptospirosis, dengue and chikungunya and biochemistry tests for blood glucose, cholesterol, urea and creatinine. Home Minister V.S. Acharya said that a lab each had been opened in Udupi and Chitradurga.
