One more arrested in Attavar assault case

The police here have arrested one more accused in connection with the assault and stripping of a 28-year-old youth at Attavar on August 24.

Padmanabha (38) from Bajpe was arrested on Monday. With this, 14 persons have been arrested in relation to the case. The police had arrested 13 accused on April 25. The arrested would be sent to Ballari jail on Tuesday, according to the police.

Shakir, an employee of a supermarket in the city, was assaulted on August 24. He was in a car with the girl, who is also an employee of the supermarket.

A group of youths enquired about the personal details of the duo, and later dragged Shakir out, stripped him to his undergarments, tied him to an electric pole and beat him up in full public view.
