Minister for Public Works H.C. Mahadevappa on Wednesday said that the post of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President is not one to be filled by calling for applications and added that he did not apply.

Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of Buddha Purnima celebrations here, Mr. Mahadevappa said that the party’s high command will identify a suitable person. Mr. Mahadevappa further noted that A.H. Vishwanath is a senior Congress leader and he would not leave the party.

Responding to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s statement that Mr. Vishwanath was a free bird, the Minister said it connoted the latter’s nature of expressing opinion without any hesitation.
