Niranjan Bhat too remandedin police custody till Aug. 16

The third accused in the Bhaskar Shetty murder case, Niranjan Bhat, an archak, who was produced before court late on Friday evening, too was remanded in police custody till August 16.

Earlier, Niranjan Bhat, who attempted suicide after swallowing a ring and a pair of ear-rings, was discharged from the Kasturba Hospital. He had been rushed to the District Government Hospital on August 8 after he complained of stomach ache.

The finger-ring and an earring got washed out after he was given laxatives on August 9 at the District Government Hospital. The other ear-ring was removed at the Kasturba Hospital on August 11, leading to his discharge on Friday.
