MIC blood donation camp on March 3

The Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC) will organise its fifth annual blood donation camp from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. here on March 3.

A press release issued by the institute here on Wednesday stated that the event was be held in collaboration with the Blood Bank of Kasturba Hospital.

The release said every donor could make use of medicare benefits worth Rs. 10,000 from Kasturba Medical College (KMC) for six months. A team from the bank and student volunteers from MIC would be present to facilitate this donation drive. The annual blood donation camp received a good response in the past and had been a successful venture for MIC. The theme for this year was “Donate Blood, Gift Life!”

The release said 70 bottles of blood were collected last year. This year, the organisers planned to reach out to more donors. For details, call 9742020313.

Head of the Department of Pathology at Melaka Manipal Medical College Anamma Kurien would inaugurate the camp, the release said.
