The meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, headed by Forests Minister B. Ramanath Rai to hear the views of people from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi regarding the recommendations of the Kasturirangan Panel, on January 27 has been postponed. The scheduled date of the meeting will be intimated in the next few days, said a press release.

The annual cashew mela will be held at the Agriculture and Horticulture Research Centre in Ullal on February 3. The mela will have demonstrations on new techniques of growing cashew and other issues concerning growing cashew. The mela will be inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agriculture and Horticulture C. Narayanaswamy, according to a press release.
