Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting postponed

The meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, headed by Forests Minister B. Ramanath Rai to hear the views of people from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi regarding the recommendations of the Kasturirangan Panel, on January 27 has been postponed. The scheduled date of the meeting will be intimated in the next few days, said a press release.

The annual fair of the Mahaganapati Temple in Urwa Stores will be held between January 26 and 29, according to a press release.

A session on yoga mudra and ways to maintain a clean office will be held for government employees at the office of the Deputy Commissioner on Saturday. While the yoga mudra session will be conducted by Gopalakrishna Delampady between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., the session on cleanliness will be held by Shashikala J. between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

The Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Trust and the Alva’s College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences will be conducting 10-day yoga and naturopathy camp at the Shasthavu Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple premises in Badaga Yedapadavu from January 25. There will not be any charges for those attending the camp. Interested people should be present for a check-up on Saturday and attend the camp from Sunday. The annual cashew mela will be held at the Agriculture and Horticulture Research Centre in Ullal on February 3. The mela will have demonstrations on new techniques of growing cashew and other issues concerning growing cashew. The mela will be inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agriculture and Horticulture C. Narayanaswamy, according to a press release.

The district-level National Voters’ Day celebrations will be held at the Government First Grade College in Uppinangady on January 25. Additional Civil Judge V. Nagaraju will be inaugurating the event. Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim and Superintendent of Police Sharanappa S.D. will be participating in the event.
