A 28-year-old junior linesman was electrocuted after he came in contact with a high tension power line in Sorake village near Puttur on Thursday.

According to Puttur Rural Police, Srisail Machagandi (28) and a senior linesman came to the village to set right an electric pole of a high tension line that had listed. Machagandi climbed the pole in an effort to tie a rope to pull it straight. Machagandi came in contact with the power line and fell to the ground and died on the spot.
