Mangalore auto driver returns Rs. 8 lakh

Autorickshaw driver Shekar Devadiga returned a bag containing Rs. 8 lakh that was left behind by a woman in his autorickshaw to her relatives on Tuesday.

According to Mangalore South Police, Mr. Devadiga dropped the wife of one Shahid Sheikh, a resident of Kolkata, and her relatives at Kaprigudde.

While getting out of the autorickshaw, Shahid Sheikh’s wife forgot to take the bag containing cash.

Mr. Devadiga noticed the bag when he was reached near the Jyothi Circle. He informed the traffic police, who guided him to the Mangalore South police station.

When Mr. Devadiga arrived at the police station, relatives of Shahid Sheikh had come to lodge a complaint about missing bag.

Mr. Devadiga handed over the bag to Mr. Sheikh’s relatives, who presented a reward in appreciation.
