These two and a skill game centre sealed for not having trade licence

After raiding a skill game centre in the city last week, Mayor Kavita Sanil led a team of Mangaluru City Corporation officials and raided two massage centres and a skill game centre again on Tuesday. According to her, these centres did not have trade licence being issued by the corporation. Earlier, she had raided a skill game centre near Ambedkar Circle on July 6.

The Mayor and officials on Tuesday raided an Ayurvedic therapy centre in front of Yenepoya Chambers building in Balmatta, a massage parlour next to Vivekananda Park in Bejai and a skill game centre in Falnir. They sealed them for not having trade licence. Though the team went to two massage parlours for a raid near the Collector’s Gate in Balmatta and near Ambedkar Circle, it could not enter them as they were closed.

Talking to reporters, Ms. Sanil said that no trading can be done in the city without obtaining trade licence.

She said that there were several skill game centres and massage parlours operating in the city without trade licence. The corporation will deal with them firmly.

The Mayor said that she will shortly call a meeting of officials to study the contention of skill game centre operators that there was no need for a trade licence for operating such centres.
