Mallikatta-Kadri temple road to be upgraded as concrete road

The Mangaluru City Corporation will upgrade the road between Mallikatta and Manjunatha Temple at Kadri as a concrete road.

The council has approved the proposal and the estimated cost is Rs. 88.9 lakh.

The council also gave its approval to build an apartment for pourakarmikas at Mahakalipadpu at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.4 crore. The apartment would have 32 houses and each floor would have eight flats. As many as 60 pourakarmikas, who have put more than 10 years of service, do not have either own sites or houses.

The apartment will come up on survey number 74 at Mahakalipadpu. As many as 32 houses would be built in the first phase. Each house of 500 sq. ft. area would cost Rs. 7.5 lakh. The beneficiary worker would have to bear 20 per cent of the cost either through bank loan or his or her own.
