KRCL felicitates individual who alerted about rail defect

Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., (KRCL) recently felicitated Mohan Madev Naik, a resident of Bengre village in Bhtkal taluk for his gesture in alerting the authorities upon spotting a crack on the rails.

A release from KRCL here said Mr. Naik had detected a crack in rail (weld failure) at Km 603/1-2 between Bhatkal and Murdeshwar on June 8. He immediately brought the same to the notice of KRCL officials concerned, who rectified the same on top priority.

KRCL said the prompt and timely action by Mr. Naik prevented possible untoward incident and saved Railway property as well as life.

The Corporation felicitated Mr. Naik with Rs. 10,000 cash award and an appreciation letter at a programme organised at Bengre Gram Panchayat office on Thursday. KRCL’s Regional Manager, Karwar, Mohammed Aasim Suliaman did the felicitation and urged general public to continue to help the Railways.
