Kodijal is MUDA chairman

The government has appointed Ibrahim Kodijal as the chairman of Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). He will take charge at the authority’s office at 3 p.m. on Friday (March 6).

Vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease

Vaccination drive against foot-and-mouth disease in animals will be taken up in Dakshina Kannada from March 9 to March 28. The district has 2.55 lakh domestic animals. The drive will be taken up in association with milk cooperative societies and department staff, a release said.

Workshop on

Pali language

Pali Institute, Kalaburagi, will conduct

a workshop on Pali language in Karnataka Theological Research Centre, Balmatta on March 7 from 10.30 a.m. B.A. Vivek Rai, visiting professor, University of Wurzburg, Germany will deliver the inaugural address. The topics to be covered will include its ancientness, grammar aspects and the like, a release said.

Nomination for consulatative meet

Dakshina Kannada District Federation of Consumer Organisations has nominated Walter Mascarenhas as its member to represent the federation in the meetings of Dakshin Railway Users’ Consultative Committee. The 151st meeting of the committee was held on February 24, 2015.

Meeting of ESI stakeholders

A meeting of all stakeholders covered under Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESI) scheme will be conducted here on March 11 at 3.30 p.m. The venue is sub-regional office, city point building, Navabharat Circle. It is to address the grievances if any.

Literary meet

Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy will organise a literary meet of women at Jamiatul Falah hall, Kankanady on March 8 from 10.30 a.m. There will be a poetry session in the noon. The topic of literary discussion at 2.30 p.m. will be ‘present challenges being faced by women and remedies’.
