Kateel temple worker killed in accident

A 54-year-old man from Girigere was killed when the scooter he was riding was hit by a private bus in Ajar near Kateel on Saturday.

The Bajpe police said Vasudeva Udupa (54), who works in a temple, was returning from the temple.

The bus hit the scooter head on and Udupa sustained injury.

Udupa died while he was being taken to a nearby hospital, the police said.

Drowned

Body of a 29-year-old man from Marakada, who had been missing since Thursday, was found dead near the NMPT guest house on Saturday.

The Kavoor police said Aruna (29) had gone with his two friends to the vented dam near Moodshedde.

All the three entered the water for swimming and Aruna was flown away.

Aruna’s friend Biju had filed a missing complaint.
