The Shivasharane Mahasadhvi Hemaraddi Mallamma Jayanti was organised at the District Offices Complex by the District Administration, the Zilla Panchayat and the Department of Kannada and Culture here on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis, who inaugurated the celebrations, spoke about the life, times and teachings of Shivasharane Mahasadhvi Hemaraddi Mallamma.
Meti Mudiyappa, writer, delivered a special lecture on the occasion. Nalini Pradeep Rao, president of the Udupi Taluk Panchayat, presided over the function. Rangappa welcomed the gathering. Additional Deputy Commissioner G. Anuradha was present.
