In addition to Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat and five gram panchayats in the district, five government higher primary schools and five anganwadis have bagged the “nairmalya” sanitation award.
Authorities of these schools and anganwadis received the award at a function at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat hall on Monday.
The list of places of schools and anganwadis with the award and cash prize in brackets are as follows.
Schools
Keddalike (Kavalamudur), Bantwal taluk, bagged district level Rajatha Nairmalya Award (Rs. 30,000) and taluk level Nairmalya Award (Rs. 20,000); Odilnala (Kuvettu), Belthangady taluk, received Nairmalya award (Rs. 20,000); Kuppepadavu, Mangalore taluk; Uppinangady, Puttur taluk; and Mulya Atlur (Ajjavara) in Sullia taluk have all received taluk level Nairmalya award (Rs. 20,000) each.
Anganawadis
Ammunje (Kariyangala), Bantwal taluk, received district-level Rajatha Nairmalya award (Rs. 15,000) and taluk level Nairmalya Award (Rs. 10,000); Punjalkatte, Belthangady taluk; Kallamundkur, Mangalore taluk; Aenitadka, Koila, Puttur taluk; and Amaramudnur in Sullia taluk have all bagged taluk-level Nairmalya Award (Rs. 10,000) each.
