DYFI activist assaulted?

Activists of the ABVP allegedly assaulted Santosh D’Souza, an activist of the Democratic Youth Federation of India, here on Monday.

According to DYFI district unit secretary Muneer Katipalla, five ABVP activists allegedly assaulted Mr. D’Souza for taking two of his college mates to a function organised by DYFI to mark the 150 birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on Saturday. Mr. D’Souza is a student of Narayana Guru College.

The police said that they had received a complaint. ABVP State unit secretary Ramesh K. said: “We do not object to students attending a programme in honour of Swami Vivekananda.”
