Dalit activists miffed at Konaje attack

July 29, 2013 03:44 pm | Updated 03:44 pm IST - Mangalore:

Dalit activists have taken objection to the police not filing an atrocities case after a Dalit was beaten up by a mob at Konaje recently for posting an allegedly derogatory post on a social networking site.

Airing their grievance at the monthly Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe meeting at the Police Commissioner’s office here on Sunday, activist U. Girish Kumar said that regardless of whether the post was offensive or not, it was wrong for the mob to trash Prasad, a Dalit youth.
