Amid Sangh Parivar’s opposition to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s participation in the Karavali Souharda rally here on Saturday, miscreants broke into the CPI(M) office at Thokkottu under the Ullal police station limits on Thursday. They set banners, posters and furniture on fire.

The miscreants are suspected to have entered the office early on Thursday. While the CPI(M) has blamed Sangh Parivar for the incident, the police have said they are investigating.

Vasantha Achari, secretary, Dakshina Kannada unit of the CPI(M), said about 10 flexes and banners, chairs, files, and a television set were burnt.

Mr. Achari said the Sangh Parivar was trying to create a “fear psychosis” among people to disrupt Saturday’s rally.
