Senior officials of the Mangaluru City Corporation skipped the interactive meeting with environmental activists here on Sunday.

P. Sridhar, Range Forest Officer, Mangaluru, was the lone officer present. According to Shashidhar Shetty, an activist of the Rashtriya Parisara Samrakshana Okkuta, one of the organisers, he made several calls to the corporation officials concerned. Cellphones of many officers of the civic body were not reachable. An environment engineer who promised to turn up could not make it to the meeting. As the corporation has a major role to play in saving greenery in the city, its officials had been invited.
