The two Cabinet Sub-Committees looking into the implementation of the Kasturirangan panel recommendations regarding declaration of eco-sensitive zones, will be touring parts of the State likely to be affected by the implementation of the recommendations, between January 13 and 31.
One Sub-Committee headed by Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology B. Ramanath Rai will start their visit from Shivamogga on January 20. This will be followed by visit to Udupi and Mangaluru on January 21.
The second Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Higher Education Minister R.V. Deshpande will start its tour by visiting Kanapur on January 13. This will be followed by a visit to Hassan and Chikkamagaluru on January 24 and Uttara Kannada on January 27.
All the members of the committees will be visiting Kodagu on January 31.
Apart from Mr. Rai and Mr. Deshpande, Law Minister T.B. Jayachandra, Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Cooperation Minister H.S. Mahadeva Prasad will be part of the two committees, according to a release.
