Agreeing to a persistent demand, the Southern Railway has extended the Kasaragod- Mookambika Road Byndoor Passenger train to Kannur in Kerala from Friday.
While it will run as a special train between Kannur and Kasargod, it will run as a regular train between Kasaragod and Byndoor.
It will leave Kannur at 4.15 a.m. and arrive at Kasaragod at 6.35 a.m. The Byndoor-Kasargod Passenger train, will depart Kasaragod at 6.55 p.m. as Kasaragod-Kannur Passenger Special and reach Kannur at 8.55 pm. A release from Southern Railway said it has taken up track maintenance work between Kuttipuram and Pallipuram from May 21 to May 24 and between Kadalundi and Feroke from May 26 to June 6.
Delay
Consequently, Train No. 16650, the Parasuram Express and Train No. 16859, the Chennai Egmore-Mangaluru Express, are expected to arrive late by 30 minutes during this period, the release said.
It will leave Kannur at 4.15 a.m. and arrive at Kasargod at 6.35 a.m.
