Postal strike

The Mangaluru divisional branch of the All India Grameen Dak Sevak Union has supported the nationwide indefinite strike called by the union from March 10. Some of their demands include regularising the services of rural employees, salaries on par with Union government employees.

Committee hearing

A sub-committee of experts to make recommendations to the State government to check crimes against women and children, will be here on Wednesday. It will interact with women, non-governmental organisations and stree shakthi groups at the Netravathi Auditorium, Zilla Panchayat, Kottara.

Bhavishya Nidhi adalat on March 10

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation will conduct a Bhavishya Nidhi adalat here on March 10 at 11 a.m. The venue will be the office of the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Bhavishya Nidhi Bhawan, Silva Road, Highlands. Complaints if any should reach the same office on March 2, a release said.

College day

St. Aloysius College will celebrate its college day on March 6 at 5 p.m. K. Byrappa, Vice-Chancellor, Mangalore University, will be the guest, a release said.

Talk on Ashtavakra Gita on Wednesday

The Mangaluru Theosophical Society will organise a talk on Ashtavakra Gita in its premises near PVS Circle on Wednesday at 5.30 p.m. Raghavendra Prabhu M., former associate professor, Canara College, will speak on the topic.

Konkani programme in Mumbai

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will organise a Konkani literary programme at St. Francis Institute of Management and Research, Borivali West, Mumbai, on March 6. There will be literary sessions on Konkani short stories, humour articles and theatre. It will have a poetry session and cultural programmes, a release said.
