Apprentice recruitment
The Puttur division of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation will conduct a walk-in interview for 119 apprentices for the trades of electrician, fitter, diesel mechanic, welder, mechanical, auto electronics, etc. Candidates with SSLC pass (preference will be given to ITI candidates) and between 18 and 40 years of age may appear for the interview at Puttur on March 6. Painting competition on Jawaharlal Nehru
Nehru Jayanti Celebration Committee and Mangalore University have organised ‘An Artist’s Image of Nehru’, a painting competition to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru for artists from Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Sunday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The venues are University College, Hampanakatte, for those from Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts and Rajiv Gandhi National Academy, Ermal, Tenka, for those from Udupi. Women’s Commission Chairperson coming
Karnataka State Women’s Commission Chairperson Manjula Manasa would visit Nadagallu near Nalkuru in Sullia Taluk at 2 p.m. on Friday. Ms. Manasa will stay overnight in Mangaluru and take part in a convention at T.M.A. Pai Hall on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Peace committee meeting today
The district-level peace committee meeting will be held on Friday at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru, at 3 p.m. ahead of the Hindu Samajotsava on March 1. District in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai would preside over the meeting.
New office bearers
