Alva’s tops wrestling championship

Alva’s College emerged as champion with 44 points while Mangalore University Campus Konaje Team was the runner-up with 24 points

Alva’s College, Moodabidri, emerged as team champions in both men’s and women’s sections of the Mangalore University Inter-College Wrestling Championship held at the District Indoor Stadium in Mangalore on Saturday.

In the women’s section, Alva’s College bagged the top slot with 40 points whereas Alva’s B.PEd College was the runner-up with 29 points. Venkataramana Women’s College, Karkala, with 19 points and Gokarnanatheshwara College, Mangalore, with 13 points, bagged the third and fourth places respectively.

In the men’s section, Alva’s College emerged as champion with 44 points while Mangalore University Campus Konaje Team was the runner-up with 24 points.

Gokarnanatheshwara College, Mangalore, bagged the third place with 23 points.

Earlier in the day, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Minister forMuzrai, Ports and Inland Water Transport, inaugurated the championships.

It was organised by the G. Shankar Government Women’s First Grade College and PG Centre and Mangalore University.
