55-year-old woman electrocuted near Bajpe

A 55-year-old woman died after she reportedly came in contact with a live wire in Nadugodu village on Tuesday.

The Bajpe police gave her name as Shobha Shetty. In a complaint, her relative Vijeta Shetty said that Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) had been informed about the old electricity wires but they reportedly did not pay attention. Ms. Vijeta said that Ms. Shobha was walking towards a cow shed. The old electricity line fell off and Ms. Shoba touched it and died on the spot. The police have registered a case against the MESCOM.

Electrician dead

A 45-year-old electrician was found dead on the railway track in Yekkur on Tuesday morning.

The police said Madhusudhan left his house on Tuesday morning. His wife started searching for him and asked Mangalore Rural police. The Government Railway Police found his body on the railway tracks. They said Madhusudhan was reportedly run over by a train.
