14-year-old boy drowns in lake

A 14-year-old boy drowned in a lake in Adyanadka near Vitla on Sunday. According to Vitla police, Pavanraj went to swim in a lake in a private property along with his friends Sunil and Prajwal. While Sunil and Prajwal managed to swim out, Prajwal drowned. Following the alarm raised by Sunil and Prajwal, the owner of the property rushed to the spot. He then called the Fire and Emergency Services personnel. They fished out the body with the help of local swimmers.

10 injured

Around 10 persons were injured after the tempo they were travelling in overturned in Padavinangady in Mangaluru Rural Police Station limits on Monday morning.

The Mangaluru East Traffic Police said around 18 persons were in the tempo. They were returning after attending the wedding of Chetan, who was in a car ahead. While negotiating a turn near Padavinangady, the tempo driver hit the car and the tempo overturned. The passengers were shifted to a hospital for treatment.

One killed in accident

One person was killed and three injured when a car hit a bicycle at Admar Cross at Tenka Yermal village coming under Padubidri Police Station limits on Monday. According to the police, the car driver lost control over his vehicle due and hit Shekhar Shetty (45), who was on the bicycle. He was pronounced brought dead by doctors.
