A decade’s work of analytical and reflective writing in Kannada will be mulled over and scrutinised during the discussions to be held as a part of the two-day Karavali writers’ conference to be held in the city starting Saturday.
The first day will see three discussions by writers and scholars who will review the culture and politics of works published in the past 10 years. While scholar Rajendra Chenni, a professor of English at Kuvempu University, will inaugurate the conference, the subsequent sessions will cover ‘Interpretations of culture and society in modern literature’, ‘observations of commercialisation, development and politics’, and ‘communalisation and right-wing development in Karnataka’.
On February 2, writers from the coast will join in discussions on the interlinking of literature and society.
