Two hurt in fire at private chemical factory

In a fire which broke in a chemical plant near Paravai, two workers were injured on Wednesday. On information, fire tenders from city and suburban stations were rushed to the spot. The cause of the fire and extent of loss was not known immediately. According to an eye witness, there was considerable delay in the arrival of fire tenders to the spot. Collector and Election Officer K. Veera Raghava Rao visited the Government Rajaji Hospital and inquired with the two workers – Saravanan and Sekar, who had suffered 20 per cent burns. According to a fire officer, the smoke absorbing vehicle from airport was used and after about two hours the situation was brought under control. Further investigation is on.
