Three burglars, including two women, held

Three burglars, including two women, were arrested when they attempted to burgle a locked house.

Police said that the burglars broke open the house of A. Sivasubramanian (63) of Sakthi Nagar under Palayamkottai police station limits on Thursday night when he had gone to Chennai with his family members. When they were searching for valuables, the neighbours informed the police who nabbed the three - A. Mariappan (33), M. Muniammal alias Meenu Kutti (22) and M. Esakkiammal (23), all from Keezha Puththaneri under Murappanadu police station limits in Thoothukudi district.

The police recovered gold and silver ornaments and brass vessels worth Rs. 98,000 and Rs. 25,000 in cash. They were remanded in judicial custody.
