Suicide alleged in Tallakulam

A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his house at Tallakulam here on Friday. According to police, the victim, identified as Mohammed Asiya (35) of Pandian Street at Tallakulam, had been jobless for the past few days.

Upset over this, he ended his life. The incident came to light when his parents found him hanging from the ceiling of his room. Tallakulam police have registered a case of suspicious death.

Body found

The unidentified body of a woman in her late thirties was found along a canal in Thuvariman near here on Saturday. According to police, the victim was wearing an orange colour sari. Villagers noticed the body and alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and conducted preliminary enquiries. Nagamalai Pudukottai police have registered a case of suspicious death. A probe is on.
