Students representing all the five educational institutions of Mahatma Group of Schools came together to unleash their creativity and made an attempt to enter record books by splashing colours on glass in a painting competition held at Mahatma Montessori Matriculation School here on Saturday.

Scores of students who participated in the event vied with one another in a span of 60 minutes to finish their stained glass painting work. It was a scintillating experience to see the children begin their work deftly with an outline and then splash across a melange of colours.

The students were trained by N. Shyamala Devi, event organiser and teacher of Pidilite Industries with her team of Fevicryl teachers from Madurai.

Aravind Srinivasan, Administrative Officer, Aravind Eye Hospital, who was the chief guest for the event, appreciated the efforts of the students.

A panel of judges headed by S. Nehru, Principal, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, and Boominathan, advocate, were present to approve the paintings and to certify that the event was fit to enter the record books. Raja Govindasamy, Principal, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, and D. Udhayashankar, Marketing Manager, Pidilite Industries, were present.
