Southern Railway General Manager Ashok K. Agarwal appeared before the Madras High Court Bench here on Friday in a contempt of court proceeding and informed the court that a cheque for Rs.10 crore had been already been given to Dindigul Revenue Divisional Officer for distributing the money to those whose lands were acquired in 1990 for Karur-Dindigul broad gauge conversion works.
After recording his submission, Justice R. Mahadevan adjourned the case to July 13 and dispensed with the appearance of the General Manager during the future hearings.
