Skill development programme on ‘gold appraisal' from today

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (MSME-DI), Chennai, will conduct a skill development programme on ‘gold appraisal' at the Gem and Jewellery Trade training School here from Monday (July 05).

According to a press release, more than 5,000 entrepreneurs and youth across Tamil Nadu benefitted from the training programmes last year.

The training will focus on various aspects such as the value of gold, the methodology to determine its worth, the procedures for procuring gold, the procedures for gold loan and the details of hallmark branding.

While no minimum educational qualification has been prescribed for taking the course, applicants must be above 18 years of age. The programme is open to both men and women.

Those successfully completing the course would be given a Government of India certificate.

Concludes on July 16

The training programme will conclude on July 16.
