The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Thursday adjourned hearing of the advance bail plea of R. Sathiyapriya, who claims to be the second wife of B. Ramasamy, who is married to Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa, and directed notice to the Delhi police.

Justice G. R. Swaminathan sought a response from the North Avenue Police Station, New Delhi, and adjourned the case to June 6.

The court directed that no action shall be initiated against Sathiyapriya until further orders.

Sathiyapriya filed the anticipatory bail petition after the Delhi police implicated her as an accused under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, Section 75 (cruelty) Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, and Section 12 (harassment) POCSO Act.

Ramasamy had filed a complaint with Delhi police alleging that Sathiyapriya tortured his daughter from his first wife.

Refuting the charges, she claimed that it was an ill-motivated complaint made and she always treated her stepdaughter as her own.

Sathiyapriya said that it was she who had suffered torture at the hands of Ramasamy and was subjected to physical, sexual and mental torture pushing her into depression.
