Tenkasi MLA R. Sarathkumar sustained minor injury on his left eye when party poppers' paper hurt his eye.
Akhila India Samaththuva Makkal Katchi sources said the party workers used party poppers when Mr. Sarathkumar came to Idaiyarthavanai near Surandai.
As pieces of papers from the party poppers hit his left eye, he was rushed to Aravind Eye Hospital for treatment.
Following medical assistance, he later left for Madurai.
