The School Education Department has invited applications for admission to seats reserved for children from underprivileged families under the Right to Education Act, which are still vacant in many schools after the first round of admissions that got over in June.

According to a statement issued by Chief Educational Officer of Madurai, a total of 615 seats in matriculation schools and 2,059 seats in nursery and primary schools reserved under RTE Act for entry-level classes are still lying vacant in the district.

The procedure for applying to these seats would be same as that of the first round of admissions, in which the parents were asked to apply online through www.dge.tn.gov.in with the required documents, including birth certificate, income certificate and community certificate.

Applications can be submitted from July 3 2017 to July 25 2015.

Those who have already submitted an application during the first round, but failed to get admission, must also submit the application afresh, the statement said.

Details about the schools in which the seats are vacant would be put up in the notice board in the office of Inspector of Matriculation Schools in Tallakulam and the office of District Elementary Education Officer in R.M.S. Road.
