A quarrel between an elderly woman and her neighbour led to the seizure of explosives from the house of the 35-year-old man in Perayur near here on Sunday.
Parvathi of Vazhaithope in Anaikaraipatti objected to his neighbour Kannan letting his dog free, as it had bit her three-year-old grandson, two days ago. This resulted in a heated argument between them.
The following day, Parvathi lodged a complaint with Perayur police stating that Kannan threatened to finish her off with a gun, and also slapped her.
After registering a case, the police, led by Inspector Shanmugam, searched the house of Kannan and seized 55 empty bullets, some explosive materials and other things. A hunt is on to nab Kannan.
The explosives were packed in a plastic bag, and they were reportedly used to chase away wild pigs. Investigation is on.
