The need to create more entrepreneurs by creating a conducive ecosystem was discussed at a session on ‘Start-ups, the next wave of Indian economy’ organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Thiagarajar College of Engineering here on Thursday.
Navas Meeran, past chairman, CII-Southern Region, and Chairman, Eastern Condiments, who spoke about Startupreneurs Forum formed by the CII, said that it proposed to encourage the southern States to engage with the start-up community and provide the much needed hand-holding support and guidance with a large vision to create more entrepreneurs.
Its main objective was to identify and nurture innovative ideas as start-up businesses, to create a network for start-ups with potential investors and senior professionals through monthly meets and also to present the annual regional Startupreneurs Awards to recognise the best start-ups.
According to a CII press release, a panel discussion featured Mr. Navas Meeran, R. Sivarajah, Co-Founder, Native Lead Foundation, and Managing Director, Winways Systems; Hari K.
